Your smile is your logo.
Your smile is the very first thing that others register as yours. Beyond your clothing, hair, or shoes, the smile is your registered trademark. Smiling is as personal as it gets.
Your smile is a tremendously powerful way to #clearthefear. It's like a broom for your face. It magically brushes away mild anxiety, the blues, and fear.
“Smiling stimulates our brain’s reward mechanisms in a way that even chocolate, a well-regarded pleasure-inducer, cannot match.”
Fear comes from attachment to illusion. Scary feelings bubble up when we imagine and qualify uncertainty. You see, the brain likes certainty. It loves to have everything in little boxes. My friend Jason calls this categorizing categories. Do you find yourself doing that? Do you spend energy imaging all of the scenarios that could play out? Do you gravitate toward the worst case?
This is an especially tough habit to break. In a way our ego gets really comfortable attaching to the worst case. Because, if you prepare for the worst, you won't be disappointed right?
Okay, back to your smile. Here's what I want you to do today. When your mind gravitates toward a negative scenario follow these steps.
1. Smile. Remember that you are on a cosmic rock hurdling 1000 miles per hour through space. Think of the enormous gift of waking up with your breath for another day on earth.
2. Gratitude. 5 things you're grateful for in this moment! READY SET GLOW!!!
3. Give someone a compliment, a hug, and a congratulations.
4. Give YOURSELF a compliment, a hug, and a congratulations.
5. Move on or repeat!
This has no side effects, no adverse reactions and can be used as many times each day as you like.
